Kettering Memorial Hospital opened in 1964 as a tribute to Charles F. Kettering, the American inventor, scientist and humanitarian. Sycamore Medical Center opened in 1978 as a general acute health care facility designed to serve the needs of the fast-growing areas of Montgomery and Warren counties.
