 Who We Treat
Patients are 18 years of age or older with functional needs.
- self-care
- movement and mobility
- communication
- thinking
- bowel and bladder management
These special needs may arise due to many different conditions:
- Stroke
- Brain Injury/Surgery
- Spinal Cord Injury/Surgery
- Amputation
- Polyarthritis, including Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Neurological Disorders (such as: Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsonism, Guillain-Barre', Muscular Dystrophy, Polyneuropathy, Neuro- muscular Disorders, etc.)
- Fracture of Femur (Hip Fracture)/Knee Joint Surgery
- Major Multiple Trauma
- And Others
 Admission Requirements
Once you are referred to our program, a case manager and a physiatrist will determine if your needs can be best met through our services. Criteria include:
- Medical Stability
- Ability to Participate (3 hours per day)
- A Need for Ongoing Nurse Care
 Financial Considerations
Inpatient rehabilitation programs are normally covered by Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurances. If you currently have no health insurance our social worker may be able to assist.

KMC Rehabilitation Program is intended for individuals whose primary need is
inpatient rehabilitation and is designed to improve your quality of life.
