 Kettering Medical Center (KMC)
Kettering Medical Center is comprised of the Charles F. Kettering Memorial Hospital,
Sycamore Hospital, and Kettering Hospital Youth Services with over 700 beds and more
than 1,100 dedicated physicians.
Supported by state-of-the-art technology and innovative management, the hospital houses
the Wallace - Kettering Neuroscience Institute featuring PET and Gamma Knife capabilities,
and the Cardiovascular Institute, which has performed over 20,000 open heart surgeries
-- more than any other area hospital.
 Grandview Medical Center (GVMC)
Grandview Medical Center -- comprised of Grandview Hospital, Southview Hospital, and
Charles H. Huber Health Center -- is the second largest osteopathic system in the country
and serves as the Southwestern Center for Osteopathic Research and Education for the Ohio
College of Osteopathic Medicine. Additionally, it serves as an osteopathic training center
for Pikeville School of Osteopathic Medicine and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Grandview Hospital is A.O.A. approved to offer 16 postdoctoral training programs.
HealthGrades gave Grandview Hospital a Five-Star Rating in three specialties: Chronic
Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Head & Neck Surgery, and Knee Replacement.
Grandview Hospital participated in a multi-hospital project targeting acute myocardial
infarction that resulted in a 36% drop in mortality rates over the most recent three year
period. This reduction translates into more than 150 lives saved locally. As a result of
the project, JCAHO awarded the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association the prestigious
2002 Ernest A. Codman Award.
